Can each URL have its own Last Modified date?
No — there's a single Last Modified field applied to every URL in the sitemap. If your pages actually have different modification dates, you'd need to edit the <lastmod> values in the downloaded file individually.
Does it check that my URLs are absolute, starting with https://?
No — whatever you type goes straight into the <loc> tag as-is. The sitemap spec expects full absolute URLs, so it's up to you to include the protocol and domain rather than a relative path.
Do priority and changefreq actually affect my SEO?
Very little in practice — Google has said for years it largely ignores both, treating them as hints at most. They're still part of the sitemap spec, so setting them doesn't hurt, just don't expect them to meaningfully influence crawling or rankings.
