Frequently asked questions

Does the Twitter Card type change to match my Open Graph type?

No — the Twitter Card is always output as summary_large_image no matter which og:type you pick (website, article, product, and so on). Edit the generated tag by hand if you need a different card type.

Does it matter if I type my handle with or without the @ symbol?

No — a leading @ is stripped off if present, then exactly one @ is added back when building twitter:site, so "@myhandle" and "myhandle" produce identical output.

Does it check that the image or page URL I entered actually exists?

No — whatever you type for og:url or og:image is inserted into the tag as-is; there's no check that the URL is reachable or that the image loads.
