Will my PNG stay a PNG after compressing?
No — the compressed output is always saved as JPEG regardless of the input format. That's what makes the size reduction possible (JPEG's lossy compression is far more effective than PNG's lossless compression for photographic images), but it means transparency isn't preserved — if you need to keep a transparent background, this isn't the right tool.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
