Why do I need a converter for iPhone photos?

Does this keep my photo's metadata (location, date taken, etc.)?
No — the underlying decoder used here doesn't carry metadata over from the original HEIC file, so the PNG comes out without EXIF data.

No — decoding runs entirely in your browser through a WebAssembly library; the file never leaves your device. Large files or multi-image HEIC bursts may take a few seconds to process.
