It updates every 10 milliseconds and displays time down to hundredths of a second (MM:SS.CC), which is precise enough for casual timing but relies on your browser's timer, so it isn't lab-grade accurate.
What does the Lap button record?
Each lap records the total elapsed time at the moment you press it, and shows the difference from the previous lap next to it, so you can see both cumulative and split times.
Does the stopwatch keep running if I close the tab?
No — the timer only runs while the page is open. Closing or reloading the tab resets it, since nothing is saved between sessions.
