It's automatically clamped — the effective end page is capped at the document's total page count, and the start page can't go below 1.
Does extracting pages modify the original uploaded file?
No — pdf-lib builds a brand-new PDF containing only the copied pages; your original file is only read, never altered.
What is the downloaded file named?
It follows the pattern split_p{from}-p{to}.pdf, based on whatever page range you last extracted.
