Frequently asked questions
Why does it show three different results?
The Robinson, Miller, and Devine formulas are three well-known medical formulas for estimating ideal body weight from height, each with slightly different assumptions — showing all three gives you a realistic range rather than one falsely precise number.
How does this differ from the BMI-based range shown?
The BMI range (18.5–24.9) is calculated purely from your height and represents a broad healthy weight band. The three named formulas instead estimate a single 'ideal' point value using frame-based clinical formulas originally developed for medical dosing calculations.
Are these formulas accurate for everyone?
No — they were developed decades ago on limited populations and don't account for muscle mass, bone density, or body composition, so athletes and very muscular individuals may see unrealistically low 'ideal' numbers. Use them as a general reference, not a strict target.
