Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between BMR and TDEE?
BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the calories your body burns at complete rest just to function. TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) adds your activity level on top of that, giving a more realistic estimate of your total daily calorie burn.
What formula does it use to calculate BMR?
The Mifflin-St Jeor equation, widely considered one of the more accurate BMR formulas for the general population, using your weight, height, age, and gender.
How are the weight loss/gain targets calculated?
They apply a ±500 calorie daily adjustment to your TDEE, which corresponds to roughly 0.5kg of weight change per week — a commonly recommended, gradual and sustainable rate.
