Why is the break-even unit count always rounded up?
Because you can't sell a fraction of a unit — it rounds up to the next whole unit, which means the break-even revenue shown (units × price) can come out a touch above your fixed costs rather than landing exactly on them.
What if my selling price is lower than my variable cost per unit?
It shows an error instead of a number — when each unit sold loses money, there's no volume of sales that gets you to break-even.
