Frequently asked questions

Are sin, cos, and tan calculated in degrees or radians?

Degrees — the input value is converted to radians internally (value × π ÷ 180) before the trig function is applied.

What happens if I divide by zero?

The display shows "Error" — dividing by zero produces an invalid result internally, which gets caught and swapped for that message instead of showing Infinity or NaN.

Why do some results show a long string of decimals?

Results are rounded to 12 decimal places to clean up floating-point rounding noise, but that still leaves visible decimals for results that are genuinely irrational, like square roots or π.
